UCAN Power Co-Founder Lucian Niemeyer Appointed
to DOE’s Secretary of Energy Advisory Board

WASHINGTON, D.C., July 10 – The United Coalition for Advanced Nuclear Power (UCAN Power) congratulates Lucian Niemeyer on his appointment to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Secretary of Energy Advisory Board (SEAB), a well-deserved recognition of his leadership at the intersection of energy, cyber security, and critical infrastructure.

Lucian co-founded UCAN Power in 2022 and has contributed his expertise and experience to the development of policy recommendations to the administration and Congress on the future of nuclear power for the Nation. As CEO of Building Cyber Security, he has been a leading voice on the resilience and safety of the critica connected systems that underpin America’s energy infrastructure — expertise that is increasingly vital as the nation works to expand reliable, secure energy production and modernize the grid to meet growing demand.

At a moment when energy and security are increasingly inseparable, SEAB will benefit from his expertise to enhance the protection, reliability, and affordability of fuel and electricity for U.S. economic prosperity. UCAN Power congratulates Lucian on this well-earned appointment and looks forward to continuing our work together to secure America’s energy future.
