Chris Ploch
Chris Ploch serves as a Principal for the United Coalition for Advanced Nuclear Power (UCAN Power), bringing extensive experience in nuclear energy policy, federal affairs, and legislative strategy.
Chris previously served as a political appointee in the Trump Administration as Senior Advisor in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Policy and Office of Nuclear Energy. In that role, he led the Department’s implementation of four executive orders focused on accelerating the development and deployment of nuclear energy technologies.
Earlier in his career, Chris held several legislative roles in the U.S. House of Representatives, including serving as Legislative Counsel to Congressman Byron Donalds (FL-19), where he managed a broad policy portfolio encompassing energy, national security, environment, defense, commerce, aerospace, natural resources, homeland security, and appropriations. He also served on the House Committee on Appropriations, gaining extensive experience with the federal funding and appropriations process.
Chris holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and is licensed to practice in Florida and the District of Columbia. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, where he competed in Division II football and served as team captain.
