The United Coalition for Advanced Nuclear Power (UCAN Power) congratulates the Honorable Preston “Wells” Griffith for his confirmation by the United States Senate as Under Secretary of Energy at the U.S. Department of Energy, a well-deserved recognition of a distinguished career bridging energy policy, national security, and public
service.

For years, Wells has served as a prominent voice in the energy community, having served in leading government policymaking and engagement roles, including as Senior Director for Energy & Environment on the National Security Council, Acting Assistant Secretary for International Affairs at the Department of Energy, and in a variety of private sector and government positions.

UCAN Power was honored to have Wells serve on our Board of Advisors for more than two years, where his leadership, expertise, and critical insights helped us build our organization and provide impactful policy recommendations to the administration and Congress. We are confident that Wells will be highly successful in his essential role as Under Secretary of Energy, and wish him and his family all the best in the years ahead.

UCAN Power, a nonpartisan, consensus-based, non-profit trade association, serves as the voice within the nuclear community that is focused solely on the deployment of advanced nuclear reactors across the spectrum of civil and military applications. UCAN Power will continue to offer the administration, Congress, and key stakeholders recommendations to accelerate the deployment of advanced nuclear technologies to meet national defense, civil power, and energy security needs.
